SOCOTECO-I Marks 50 Years of Electric Distribution Service

Holds Meaningful Celebration Amid Pandemic

For an organization to reach half a century is no small feat. Kudos! to SOCOTECO-I as it celebrates its 50 Golden Years today, August 31, 2021, in the rural electrification industry.

The celebration began with a Thanksgiving Mass officiated by Fr. Romeo Subaldo which was attended by the officers and employees of SOCOTECO-I at the Christ the King Cathedral. Throughout the journey of the cooperative to where it is now, SOCOTECO-I never fails to thank the Lord and give back all the glory and praises to Him.

With high hopes for the coming future, the mass is followed by the Groundbreaking and Capsule-laying of the upcoming construction of the SOCOTECO-I ASD-1 Building Complex located at Corner Cayetano-Arellano St., Brgy. Zone II, City of Koronadal. This is a manifestation of the steadfast service of SOCOTECO-I for its beloved MCOs as it draws the office closer to the heart of the city. The event is graced by Ernesto Cabanting, representative of the City Mayor and Brgy. Kag. Nelson Jumilla of Brgy. Zone II.
Capping the half-day’s celebration is the Commissioning of the 5MVA Lamsugod Subsation located at Brgy. Lamsugod, Surallah – another bold initiative of SOCOTECO-I – as it remains true to its vision of becoming the most competitive electric utility of choice.
The substation will energize line feeders of T’boli and portion of Surallah which is an immediate response to the growing demand for electricity in the localities and a more flexible and faster approach towards power restoration. This was attended by the Surallah Administrator, Beltran Armada and Hon. Anthony Baladjay, Brgy. Captain of Brgy. Lamsugod.
Despite the imminent threats brought by the COVID-19 pandemic, the cooperative celebrates this once-in-a-lifetime event. This is another milestone etched in the pages of SOCOTECO-I history when it started just but a humble EC in 1971, carrying the mission of rural electrification and envisioning in its creed, for a better and a brighter place to live-in.
As what Fr. Subaldo said in the mass homily, character is the most worthwhile key to success and with the coop’s genuine character for TRUE SERVICE, SOCOTECO-I remains one with the MCOs in living the dreams and weaving the future.
HAPPY 50TH FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY, SOCOTECO-I!!!
