Furthering our thrust to become a Diamond EC

Since 1971, SOCOTECO-I had been striving hard to effectively deliver QUALITY AND EFFICIENT SERVICE that its member-consumers deserve.  And in commemoration of its forty-fifth year on    August 31, 2016, the Cooperative celebrated its achievements and successes as among the most outstanding Electric Distribution Utility (EDU) in the country. The most recent addition to our laurel is the Triple A (AAA) award accorded by the National Electrification Administration to EDUs based on their technical, financial and customer service performances.

To also mark the 45th year, SOCOTECO-I highlighted the milestones it has so far reached in the presence of all the general managers who laid the cornerstones of the Coop – Col. Celestino Desamito, Mr. Efren D. Baustista, Atty. Pio B. Marinas and current GM, Mr. Santiago C. Tudio. Also present were majority of former board directors and retired employees along with the present Management team and BODs on a night dubbed as “Stars @ 45.” It was an evening full of recounted powerful stories and remarkable memories that made SOCOTECO-I to what it is today.

A coffee table book, “Kasanag” was also released that narrates the commissioning verve of electricity to progress and development on a theme Socoteco-I @ 45: Empowering the South.

The events led to a recommitment on the Coop’s pledge to only provide the best service to the people it serves. This commitment was then sealed on November 07, 2016 when SOCOTECO-I launched its new Mission, that is, “to achieve customer delight by providing quality and reliable electric service at least cost thereby improving the way of life of our stakeholders,” and its Vision – “A first-rate electric utility of choice by 2030.” This Mission-Vision encompasses the desired future position of the Cooperative as well as its objectives and strategic approach to attain its objectives. This re-ignited direction further strengthens the determination of the Coop to outperform what is has achieved in the past 45 years to ultimately earn the Ultra-Diamond title that every electric cooperative aspires.

The 2017 Policy Directions of the Board of Directors establishes the resolute intent of the Management and Board Directors to raise the category of the Coop to Diamond Electric Cooperative. This target carries with it a tall order for innovation and upgrading including the realization of a Single-Digit System Loss rating that will have lingering positive impact to the services rendered by the Coop.

Given the 2017 direction and our obligation to dispense quality services, we seek for your cooperation as member-consumers of SOCOTECO-I to help us realize our goals. We give you the assurance that we will work harder to be of better service to you.
