Theme: “NCECCO: An Electric Consumers Movement for Change”
On 25 April 2017, more than 6,000 members of the National Center of Electric Cooperative Consumers Inc. (NCECCO) gathered for the 1st National Summit for Electric Consumers at New Tagum City Hall Atrium, Tagum City in Davao Del Norte.
The SOCOTECO-I management and board of directors along with representatives from every Barangay Power Association (BAPA) and Multi-Sectoral Electrification Advisory Council (MSEAC) huddled with other delegates from other electric cooperatives of the country.
NCECOO National Chairman Akmad M. Mamalinta, PhD. said that the unified objective of the summit is to pursue changes in the power industry and to educate and protect the rights of electricity consumers. NEA Administrator Edgardo R. Masongsong spoke about the developments on electric cooperativism and the thrusts of President Duterte’s Administration on National Development thru Rural Electrification.
NEA Admin Masongsong officiated the en-masse oath taking of members and led the pledge of support to NCECCO to actively participate in all its activities that gear towards achieving NCECCO’s mission and vision.
