Empowering more BAPAs

The Sitio Electrification Program (SEP) of the national government has brought tremendous shift to the cooperative’s activities. These activities brought certain challenges to the quality of customer service we offer to our member-consumers especially to those who are situated in the far-flung areas.

As lines have extended, a total membership in the cooperative reached up to 75,049 as of March 2016 creating 107, 545 house connections, making it difficult to personally reach out to our member-consumers and involve them in cooperative affairs.

These numbers led the cooperative to intensify programs towards organizing more Barangay Power Associations (BAPAs) for the purpose of strengthening awareness and involvement in efforts towards reduction of system loss, improvement of collection efficiency, and development of institutional consciousness.

As of April 2016, SOCOTECO-1 has one hundred (111) organized BAPAs, ninety one (91) are operational with a total of 9, 858 billed member-consumers.

  • Sitio Lamkling, Lamcade, Lake Sebu
  • Sitio Sta. Barbara, Brgy. San Jose, Banga
  • Purok Paraiso, San Miguel, Norala
  • Sitio El kuda, Brgy. Puti, Norala
  • Purok Sampaguita, Brgy. Moloy, Surallah
  • Sitio Supo, Brgy. Maan, Tboli
