The South Cotabato I Electric Cooperative, Inc. (SOCOTECO-1) is once again honoured as Triple A (AAA) Awardee or one of the exemplary performing electric cooperatives nationwide during the 2017 Lumens Awards by the National Electrification Administration (NEA) on April 28, 2017 at the Big 8 Corporate Hotel in Tagum City, Davao del Norte. The award was handed over by the NEA Administrator Edgardo Masongsong to the Management and members of the Board of Directors. The award is based on the assessment and evaluation of the NEA more specifically based on 2016 EC Overall Performance Assessment, three-year track record and implementation of the national government’s program- the Sitio Electrification Program (SEP).
A special commendation, the EC Management Award for Exemplary General Manager was also given to GM Santiago C. Tudio for the exemplary performance and his valuable contributions in the advancement of the RE Programs in the provinces of South Cotabato and portion of Sultan Kudarat. The cooperative was also conferred with various special awards and citations including Best in Collection Performance Award, EC with least number of complaints, EC belonging to the poster of NEA’s Partners in Capacity Building Program and Model Headquarters Facilities Award.
