Rotating brownout has ceased since the start of the test run of the 11.9MW Bunker-fired Power Plant of the Supreme Power Corporation (SPC) installed at Purok Garfin, Brgy. Paraiso, City of Koronadal.
The recently recorded power demand of SOCOTECO-1 peaks up to 42MW. Thus, with the initial operation, it has significantly augmented the supply shortage caused by the intermittent performance of hydro power plants under the NPC-PSALM contract. This new capacity hopes to practically address the power supply shortage and the increasing demand for energy. The test run is in preparation for the start of its commercial operation within the 2nd quarter of the year.
